I was playing guide until he got his first snook in a long time. I made sure his leader was good and he had the right fly on. I eased him to one of my most productive dock....... his first cast in there was on target..... and he hooked up! A quick jump and it was gone. He was feeling bummed, but I think we'll have another shot.
Next couple docks were not active but he caught a nice Seatrout to get a fish in the boat and break the ice. The next set of lights I've have done good on this year......He cast his Neerly Live Bait into the light and striped it as fast as he could. Strip Strip Strip BANG!........dang......no hook up. As he growled at himself I told him to give the fish a chance to settle down. After a few minutes he made another cast and this time....... HOOK UP...SPASH.....JUMP...RUN.......JUMP and the fight was on. After a nice tug of was I grabbed his prize, and nice 25" Snook!
A nickname
was now lost...Snookless was not Snookless anymore
That was just the beginning of the best day I/we had this year. We switched
back and forth catching Snook. I managed a 24 incher on a dock that always
seemed to have my number. I hooked many fish at this dock but always seem
to loose them. This time it only to 1 cast to hookup and finally WIN! A
hard fighting 24 incher was put in the boat!
Albert was next up and connected with a larger fish and was again successful.

There was one nice fish that DID get away. I hooked what looked like the biggest fish of the night that I pulled out of the dock, but was able to get back into the pillings on me, and cut off my leader right at the fly line!
Albert landed one more wild and crazy 21" Snook before the night was over. We finished with 6 Snook landed from 21 to 29 Inches and a few Seatrout and Ladyfish........... Hell of a way to loose a nickname!
