Redfish (or Red Drum)  inhabit many different environments in the inshore and offshore waters
in the south and east coasts of the U.S. and they eat just about anything that will fit into their mouths.
Most of the flyfishing for Redfish takes place in the shallow inshore waters.Redfish can be caught in the hottest
part of the summer as well as the coldest times of the year which makes them as popular as they are.
They are usually seen in the shallow grass flats on the incoming tide, and up along the mangroves and
oyster beds on the higher part of the tide., They usually fall back into the deeper holes and channels when
the tide begins to turn out. They are also found along the beaches, passes and jetty's. They can be found
way up inside marshes and creeks into fresh water too. When a Redfish reaches maturity the school up
and go offshore and can be found around wrecks and oil rigs in the Gulf of Mexico.
