The Snook is one of the most sought after gamefish in the saltwater from northeast Florida, up to the Suncoast of Florida, south Texas, Mexico and into Central America. Here is some information about flyfishing for Snook and what the best flies are for catching Snook anywhere they are found.

Snook live in the inshore waters in Florida, Texas, Mexico and Central America. They can be found in back-country creeks all the way into the freshwater at times. They are found during the warmer times of the year on the beaches and passes. They are accustom to man made structures, like boat docks, bridges and jetty's. For the many places that Snook live, there are just as many foods that they can be found munching on, which sometimes makes it difficult to choose the right fly pattern, for the job at hand. When I make, or design a Snook fly at Dan's Custom Flys, I do my best to imitate the foods that these fish eat. Snook can grow to sizes over 50lbs, and can each a HUGE meal, but sometimes they are only eating micro bait fish one half inch long.
