TOPIC PROMPTS (listed below)

If the instructor is not providing specific instruction to the entire class in the computer lab, then each student is required to write (during all remaining class time).  If a specific assignment is completed, then each student should select a topic from this "topic prompts" web page and continue to write, rinse and repeat in order to remain occupied with the class subject matter (writing) for the entire class period.  If a student completes all discernible topics, then the student should request more topics from the instructor.  There is no minimum or maximum requirement for the length of compositions based on the topic prompts.  If a student believes that his/her topic comments are declining in quality, then the student should conclude that topic, prepare to turn it in, and select a new topic, and continue to write.

The class philosophy in the preceding paragraph also applies outside of the computer lab.  If the instructor is not providing specific instruction to the entire class, then each student is required to write (during all remaining class time).  If a specific assignment is completed, then each student should select or recall a topic from this "topic prompts" web page. To aid in recollection, any student may print the topics web page and bring it to each class. Each student must continue to write, rinse and repeat in order to remain occupied with the class subject matter for the entire class period. If a student is not actively writing, then the student should be reviewing and correcting his/her work. If a student believes that he/she has completed a topic, has corrected all errors, and cannot form new content to add, then the student should select a new topic and continue to write.  If a student completes all discernible topics, then the student should request more topics from the instructor.
